Video: Doris Ogala alleges police harassment, blames Chris Okafor

Nigerian actress Doris Ogala has raised alarm over what she describes as repeated attempts to intimidate and arrest her, accusing Chris Okafor, founder of the Mountain of Liberty and Miracle Ministry, of being behind the latest incident.

In an emotional video shared on social media, the actress claimed that police officers unexpectedly appeared at her residence and demanded to take her into custody.

“I have police in my house, I do not know where they are coming from. I do not know how they entered my house,” she said, visibly shaken.

Ogala further alleged that the officers identified themselves as coming from a Lagos division.

“I have police in my house. They say they are from Lagos. Chris does not want to leave me alone. He has carried me to three courts. Now, he has taken me to more than seven police stations. There is one in zone 2. There is one in Abuja zone 7.

“Chris is the one sending them. They have surrounded my house. If you people do not see me again, you should hold Chris Okafor.”

The latest outburst adds a new layer to the long-running and highly publicised dispute between the actress and the cleric, which began last year following the emergence of a video announcing his engagement.

Ogala had alleged that she was in a romantic relationship with Okafor dating back to 2017, claiming she ended her previous marriage at his insistence.

She also accused him of making repeated promises of marriage before allegedly abandoning her.

The dispute escalated when the actress issued an ultimatum, demanding that the cleric either marry her or pay financial compensation, later placing a N1 billion claim for alleged breach of promise.

She further made serious allegations linking him to the poisoning and death of her brother, claims that intensified public attention around the controversy.

Despite the accusations and public exchanges, Okafor went ahead to marry Pearl Okafor in both traditional and white wedding ceremonies.

At different points, the cleric has responded in contrasting ways, initially dismissing Ogala’s reaction as “the devil’s anger” over his marital happiness.

He later made a public apology, kneeling to acknowledge aspects of their past relationship, before subsequently withdrawing the apology weeks later.
