Tesla Cybertruck

Tesla’s long-awaited Cybertruck should start making its way to customers in the third quarter of 2023.

This is according to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who spoke about the car during a Tesla investors call on Wednesday. According to Musk, Tesla will « probably » have a Cybertruck « delivery event » in Q3 this year.

Originally announced in November 2019, the Tesla Cybertruck was supposed to go into production in 2021, but has been delayed several times since then.

There’s still a caveat, though; while Cybertruck production is starting this summer, volume production won’t begin until 2024, so only the select few will likely get their flashy new stainless steel truck.

« As with all new products, it will follow an S curve; production starts out slow and then accelerates, » said Musk.

Musk didn’t share any new details about the Cybertruck during the call.

« It’s an incredible product, a hall of famer, I think, and a product like this only comes along once in a long while. You will not be disappointed at all, it’s amazing, » said Musk.

Musk said that part of the reason why Cybertruck is late is that it’s a « radical product » that’s « not made in the way other cars are made. » We’ve already seen one issue stemming from Cybertruck’s extravagant design, where Tesla has had problems designing a wiper that can cover the car’s enormous windshield.
