(L to R) Emma Corrin as Lady Constance, Jack O'Connell as Oliver Mellors in Lady Chatterley's Lover.

The trailer for Netflix’s Lady Chatterley’s Lover is here and, omg I think I need a lie down after watching it. Oh, and did we mention it stars theee Emma Corrin (The Crown, My Policeman) as the eponymous Lady Constance Chatterley?

You’ve probably heard of Lady Chatterley’s Lover, the steamy D.H. Lawrence novel, which was the subject of an obscenity trial in the UK in 1960. The book sold millions of copies, while also inviting mass shock and consternation for its explicit sexual descriptions and repeated use of the F-word and C-word. What’s not to like?

The story goes like this: Lady Constance Chatterley (Corrin) is a wealthy aristocrat. Her husband Sir Clifford Chatterley (Matthew Duckett) is paralysed from the waist down after being injured during the First World War. In the aftermath of Clifford’s injury, Connie and Clifford no longer share a sexual relationship.

As the title of the book and film suggest, Connie has an affair with the gamekeeper, Oliver Mellors (Jack O’Connell) at the Chatterley’s estate, which naturally leads to a whole load of drama.

Directed by Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre, the film also stars Joely Richardson (Mrs Bolton), Faye Marsay (Hilda), and Ella Hunt (Mrs Flint).

Lady Chatterley’s Lover will be available only on Netflix on Dec. 2.
