An Abavo-born businessman based in South Africa, Mr. Lemuel Okonta has called on the people of Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State to support Mr. Tony Ugbejie’s chairmanship aspiration, saying that the time has come for technocrats to get involved in local politics.

Okonta made the appeal yesterday in Asaba while addressing newsmen noting that With the inauguration of Delta State Independent Election Commission(DESIEC) last month, it became clear that the local government election will be held early next year.

According to him, Ugbejie will build on whatever modest achievement is recorded in the area.

” I have been observing the political development in my local government area. I am aware that three persons had indicated their interest to contest for the position public. I did not find it hard to pick the best from the pack Mr. Tony Ugbejie tops the list.

“I have known Ugbejie for a long time, he is a young man who does not tie himself to tribal leaning. He is very intelligent and audacious. We need a young man with unimaginable wisdom.

“ Ugbejie has the capacity to bring the people to invest in our local government area which will create jobs. I am sure he is in sync with the younger folks too. He’s the best for the job”.
