Tropical Storm Nicole strengthened Tuesday and threatening to make landfall in Florida as a hurricane sometime Thursday, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Nicole’s path has increasingly narrowed toward central Florida, and hurricane warnings have been issued from Boca Raton to the Flagler/Volusia County Line.

As of Tuesday morning, the storm is 460 miles from the Florida coast and boasting maximum sustained winds of 50 miles per hour. The storm is expected to reach the Bahamas on Wednesday before pushing on toward Florida, according to the NHC forecast.
