Brian Cox as Logan Roy in Succession.

« I’m a hundred feet tall. These people are pygmies. »

Trust Logan Roy to tease Succession Season 4 with a quote that’s both magnificently egotistical, utterly dismissive of his children, and offensive in a hilariously outdated way. The 30-second trailer for the highly anticipated fourth season, which aired before the House of the Dragon finale on Sunday night, shows what Kendall dubs the « new gen Roys » and the always-cringe Connor refers to as the « rebel alliance » gathering in various richly appointed settings to try and take down their apparently bulletproof patriarch. There’s also a tantalizing glimpse of the maybe-irreparable rift in Shiv and Tom’s marriage, as revealed to devastating effect in the final moments of Season 3.

Per a season synopsis released by HBO, « the sale of media conglomerate Waystar Royco to tech visionary Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgård) moves ever closer. »

« The prospect of this seismic sale provokes existential angst and familial division among the Roys as they anticipate what their lives will look like once the deal is complete, » the synopsis continues. « A power struggle ensues as the family weighs up a future where their cultural and political weight is severely curtailed. »

Succession‘s fourth season will premiere on HBO sometime in Spring 2023.
